Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. "Local storage" is a similar place in your browser where a site can keep small settings. This page lists everything our shop stores in your browser.
We do not use advertising, tracking or analytics cookies. Our visitor statistics are counted on our own server without any cookie (see our Privacy notice).
Cookies we set
- PHPSESSID: keeps your visit together from page to page, including whether you are signed in and the security token that protects our forms. Strictly necessary. Deleted when you close your browser, and cannot be read by scripts on the page.
- vs_ccy: remembers whether you chose to see prices in UAE dirhams (AED) or US dollars (USD). Set only when you use the AED / USD switch, and lasts one year. It changes only how prices are shown; you always pay in AED. It cannot be read by scripts on the page.
- vs_cart: remembers your basket, so your items are still there when you come back. Strictly necessary. Set the first time you add something to your basket or send us a form on the site, and lasts 30 days. It holds a random code, not your details, and cannot be read by scripts on the page.
Things we keep in your browser's local storage
These stay in your browser and are not sent to us.
- vs_theme: your choice of Day, Night or Auto colours. Kept until you clear your browser's storage.
- vs_recent: your last 10 searches on this site, so the search box can offer them again. Delete them with "Clear" under Recent searches on the search page, or by clearing your browser's storage.
- vs_cookie_notice: remembers that you closed the cookie notice, so it is not shown again. Kept until you clear your browser's storage.
If you install our app
You can add this shop to your phone's home screen or your computer as an app ("Install app"). If you do, or simply visit, your browser keeps a copy of the site's own files (its style sheet, scripts and app icons) and a short "you are offline" page in its cache, so pages open faster and you see a clear message when you have no connection. It holds no pages with your details: your basket, checkout and account pages are never stored. Clearing your browser's site data, or uninstalling the app, removes it.
Cookies set by others
- Stripe: at checkout, Stripe's payment form is loaded from Stripe's servers to take card payments securely, and Stripe may set its own cookies to prevent fraud. They are covered by Stripe's privacy and cookie policies at stripe.com. Stripe is not loaded on any other page.
- Product videos: some product pages have a video from our supplier, loaded from the supplier's server only when you press play.
Your choices
The cookies and storage we use are strictly necessary for the basket, checkout and sign-in, or remember a choice you made, so we do not ask for your consent to them. Instead we show a short notice on your first visit that says so and links to this page. You can block or delete cookies in your browser's settings, but if you block ours, your basket and sign-in will not work.
Changes
If we start using any other cookie or storage item, we will add it to this page first.
